What if I am nervous about climbing? Can beginners climb Bear Rock?

Luckily, we’ve been teaching for years and know how to support and walk you through your hesitations. Climbing can be as simple as tieing in and taking a few steps on the wall. We do offer mock sport lead and mock trad lead. There is also opportunity for rappelling AND if we have advanced climbers there is a second layer of rock that offers 5.10 and 5.11 climbs

Why do we love GRP? Why climb HERE?

From a climbing aspect, it is extremely rare, almost impossible to find rock climbing on private property. Green River has 3,400 acres of beauty. There are no crowds, a few select employees, and a guarantee not to run into anyone at the climbing crag.

Also, GRP works towards an incredible cause. The mission of Green River Preserve is to provide a challenging and nurturing learning experience and inspire a deep appreciation of interconnectedness, ecological respect, and the joy of living. GRP is a non-profit organization that is generously offering their land to encourage people to get outside.
